Bringing People Together Beyond Screens

The Inspiration Behind SeeYas

In today's digital world, people spend more time online than ever. While technology keeps us connected, it can also feel isolating when most interactions happen through screens. SeeYas was created to change that—to help people connect in real life by discovering and joining social events.

The idea for SeeYas came during the COVID-19 pandemic, when people were stuck in lockdowns. Many turned to online activities, but a common desire remained—the need to meet new people and explore new places. Whether traveling or staying local, SeeYas makes it easy to find events, join activities, and meet like-minded people.

The Challenge: Balancing Business Rules & User Needs

Before designing the app, our engineering team had already set business rules. This meant we had to carefully design the user flow to fit within these rules while keeping the experience simple and enjoyable.One of the key challenges was defining two user roles:

🙋 Attendees – Those looking to join activities.

💁 Hosts – Those creating and managing events.

We had to ensure both roles had a smooth experience, making it easy for attendees to find events and for hosts to manage their activities effortlessly.

Understanding User Needs

To refine our approach, we asked potential users about their biggest concerns when attending or hosting events. Their top three concerns were:

Joining tours easily – Users wanted a simple way to browse and sign up.
Finding relevant events – Many apps had too much clutter, making it hard to find what they needed.
Meeting people safely – Users wanted a secure way to interact with others.

How We Addressed These Concerns

Based on our research, we implemented three key improvements to make the design experience smoother and more intuitive:

✅ Flexible Event Settings – Hosts can set events as public (anyone can join) or private (attendees need approval). This ensures both openness and privacy.

✅ Simple Event Discovery – A location-based main page helps users find events near them quickly.

✅ Better Group Interaction – Before an event, attendees can see who else is going and chat within the app, making it easier to connect.

Research: Learning from Other Platforms

To create a seamless experience, we studied apps like Meetup, Couchsurfing, Tripadvisor, and Bigo Live.

🔍 Key Insight: Many platforms overwhelm users with too much information, making it hard to navigate.

With SeeYas, we focused on simplicity—allowing users to explore and connect easily without unnecessary distractions.

How SeeYas Works: A Walkthrough

1. Discover & Join Activities

The heart of SeeYas is helping people join events effortlessly. Users can browse activities on an interactive map, just like booking a ticket. Once they sign up, they wait for the event day to meet their group and start the experience.

2. Chat & Connect Before the Event

Once an attendee’s request is approved by the host, they can chat with other participants. This builds excitement and helps attendees feel comfortable before meeting in person.

3. Live Streaming for Virtual Experiences

Not everyone can attend in person, so we introduced a live streaming feature. Users can watch ongoing tours in real-time, making it possible to explore new places from anywhere.

💡 Bonus: Hosts can also earn income through donations from live stream viewers.

Brand Identity: The Look & Feel of SeeYas

SeeYas is all about social connections and travel, and we wanted the design to reflect that.

🎨 Color Palette – Inspired by the sea, we chose a blue-to-green gradient to evoke a sense of adventure and openness.

🖍️ Rounded Corners – The UI features soft, rounded shapes to create a friendly, youthful, and inviting look.

✈️ Brand Name Meaning – SeeYas is a playful take on "See you again," reinforcing the idea of lasting connections and future meetups.

Final Thoughts

SeeYas is more than just an event app—it’s a platform for real-life connections. Whether users are looking to meet locals while traveling, join unique experiences, or make new friends, SeeYas makes it all possible.With a simple interface, strong social features, and a vibrant brand identity, we believe SeeYas will help people step away from their screens and say "Yes" to new adventures.
