Redefining the Food Delivery Experience

A Fresh Take on Food Delivery
Imagine craving a meal and wanting to try dishes from different restaurants, but instead of placing multiple orders, you can get everything from one place. That’s exactly what Just Kitchen offers—a virtual kitchen that partners with multiple cuisine brands, allowing customers to mix and match dishes from different restaurants in a single order.

Unlike traditional food delivery platforms, Just Kitchen doesn’t just connect customers with restaurants—it operates its own virtual kitchens across Taiwan. This means faster service, fresher food, and more variety, all in one seamless experience.

The Challenge: Building a Flexible and Scalable System

As a startup, Just Kitchen needed a food delivery app and website that would not only meet current demands but also adapt to future growth. The challenge was to:

✅ Design a user-friendly platform for ordering and receiving dishes

✅ Ensure scalability, allowing new features and expansions over time

Launch within just four months, making efficiency a key priority

With these goals in mind, we structured the design to be both flexible and visually intuitive, ensuring a smooth experience for users while keeping the system adaptable for future updates.

Organizing the Experience: A Unified Design Approach

With limited time, we streamlined development by creating a cohesive design for both the app and website, ensuring that they shared a consistent structure. This saved development effort while keeping the experience uniform across platforms.

One key priority was simplifying navigation. With multiple brands under one platform, we needed a clear and easy-to-follow structure, allowing users to browse, discover, and order effortlessly.

Learning from the Best: Competitor Research

To refine Just Kitchen’s approach, we analyzed leading food delivery apps like Uber Eats, Food Panda, and DoorDash.

Key Takeaways from Competitors:

📌 Uber Eats: Bright, engaging visuals with clear section dividers

📌 Food Panda: Strong branding with easy-to-use filters and recommendations

📌 DoorDash: Simple, reliable navigation with a focus on user preferences

Using these insights, we crafted a fresh, simple, and reliable brand identity for Just Kitchen—one that prioritizes ease of use while maintaining an inviting and lively feel.
